Just tossed this together in flash. It's a bit of a deviation from what I usually do; it's very simple. Notice that the lines don't start or end at the same time, but once they meet, they stay together.

I could see this working for some sort of abstract title or credits sequence. Or maybe something even odder than that.
If there's one thing I think I could stand to try doing next in my work, it's to try animating something abstract. Put less of a focus on your typical characters and more of a focus on something simple like this. Or something not so simple; it would depend.
